Tashkent
From Wikia Travel
Tashkent the capital of Uzbekistan, a population of 1,967,879 (estimated: 2006). Although it is not very ancient city, and it originated as an oasis near the foothills of the Golestan Mountains. Its location on the famed Silk Road made it a melting pot of many cultures and traditions from which the distinctive tradition and culture Taskent had emerged.
