Port Louis

Port Louis is the capital of Mauritius and its largest city with a population of over 150,000. The local people would pronounce it as paw-louee. It is port and was founded by the French in 1735 as a port of halt and was named after their king Louis XV. The port city has emerged as one of the best destination in the Indian Ocean, and a gateway to the beautiful island nation of Mauritius.
