This is Yuengling country! There are also other good local brews to try. These include Troegs, Penn Brewery, Erie Brewing Company, and Philadelphia Brewing Company. You can buy beer the brewery.
Pennsylvania has some crazy liquor laws. In short, you should buy a 24 pack of beer from a beer distributor if you do not want to get ripped off. Beer distributors can be hard to find. Sampler packs from craft breweries are available at beer distributors. A sampler pack of craft beer will cost around $30.
The PLCB (Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board) sells wine and liquor. It is best avoided as it is a social issue/social problem.
Getting a liquor license in Pennsylvania is like getting a seat on the New York Stock Exchange. As a result, it is sometimes hard to find restaurants that serve alcohol. On the flip side, many restaurants have BYOB policies.
