The BeachEdit

Nice has a fantastic but unusual beach. With a bed of palm-sized ovular rocks, you won't find any soft sandy spots to lay on and sunbathe. Bring a padded mat, or just stick it out and lay down a towel and enjoy the scenery. There's a lot more to the Nice beach than the beautiful blue water and a nice coastline. You'll find natives sunbathing liberally at almost any time of the day.

The beach was a great place to go at night. The coast is illuminated by street lamps at dusk and attracts lots of young people. We weren't the only ones out there with a six-pack of beers and a guitar, jumping into the Cote d'Azur at 21:00.
