Merida

Mérida is the capital city of the Mexican state of Yucatán. It is located in the northwest part of the state, about 35 km (22 miles) from the Gulf of Mexico coast, at 20°58′12″N, 89°37′12″W. In 2003 the population was about 793,000, ranking 11th among the most populous Mexican cities. Mérida is served by Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport (IATA airport code: MID)
