Hamilton, New Zealand is a major city located on the banks of the mighty Waikato River. Some of the cities highlights include the Waikato Museum and the Hamilton zoo, which provides native birds with enormous freedom in a walk-through free flight aviary
Hamilton's central precinct is easily accessible and has many great cafes, restaurants, a casino and bars. The city is also well known as a destination for national and international events from sporting matches such as rugby, cricket, netball, rowing and boxing to concerts and festivals. Annual events such as the National Agricultural Fieldays and Balloons over Waikato festival draw crowds from far and wide.

Getting to HamiltonEdit
The area is easily accessible and easy to get around, whether flying in, driving, or travelling by train or bus. Self-drive is the most popular option and most attractions are driving distance. Hamilton airport is about 20 minutes’ drive from Hamilton’s Transport Centre, from where buses and coaches cover the city, outlying towns and other national destinations.

Climate : Auckland has an all year round temperate climate even if it often rains. The best period to visit, like the rest of New Zealand, is the summer from November to February. The average temperature in July, the coldest month, is approx. 10 °C and in February approx. 20 °C.

Opening hours : offices are open from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm. Government offices are open from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am. to 4:30 pm. Shops are open from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm., and Saturday morning from 9 am to 12:30 pm. Once a week there is late night shopping (Thursday or Friday) until 9 pm.
