Lesotho (official name: the Kingdom of Lesotho) is a landlocked country of Africa and it is surrounded on all sided by the Republic of South Africa. It was formerly known as Basutoland. Lesotho covers an area of 30,355 km² and has a population of 1,795,000. Lesotho means roughly "the land of the people who speak Sotho".
