This small town has some old buildings dating from the pre-independence era. The police station near the Sadbhavna chowk is housed in a heritage building. The Springfields Heritage hotel building was built by an aristocrat from Lahore, and some of the family still live near the hotel.

The Flowerdale road to dhobi-ghat is a scenic 20-minute walk that runs parallel to a stream. Kalij pheasants, several other species of himalayan birds and Rhesus macaques are found in the jungle in this area. The best time to go bird watching is at 6 A.M. in the mornings and about 4 P.M. in the evening.
