The Atlantic Ocean is between Africa and South America, and Europe and North America. It goes all the way down to the tip of Africa and up to the southern tip of Greenland. Many beaches including Miami Beach, Myrtle Beach, and the Outer Banks are at the Western edge as long as New York City, Boston, and Miami.

Weather[]

Several hurricanes are created from this area. Most of the hurricanes come off from Africa and gain strength in Mid-Atlantic. They mostly strike around Gulf of Mexico, or the Eastern Seaboard, being the most devastated so far, the Katrina hurricane.

Besides that, several waterspouts can also be found offshore at the Eastern Seaboard and Gulf of Mexico. Waterspouts are like tornadoes that occurs over a body of water, believed to be connected to the lake-effect snow precipitation bands.

Habitats[]

The Atlantic Ocean is home to several animals. Popular animals include:

  • Green Sea Turtle
  • Golden Trevally
  • Stingrays
  • Sharks
  • Northern Right Whale
  • Moon Jellyfish
